Some people spend their summer moving house or making improvements to their home. So it is with Roy Dupuis. Several years ago the actor purchased an old house, built in the 1840's, in the Hemmingford area. "It’s still in good condition except that the previous occupants had fitted it out in aluminium. I’ve removed it all and replaced the wood. It’s not a renovation, rather a restoration." Roy Dupuis seems quite comfortable with this sort of work. "It’s something I’ve done a lot of these past few years when I’ve had a couple of months’ holiday in the summer."

For several years Échos Vedettes has taken part in Défi-Vision, a charity event on behalf of Foundation Mira. Always quite spectacular, this mad race leaves the driving of the car to a blind person. They are assisted by a co-driver … who can see.

The 10 lap ordeal took place, as usual, at the Granby Autodrome. Robert Brouillette was the co-driver in the car sponsored by Échos Vedettes. Like many other personalities acting as co-drivers, the star of Four and a Half found himself in some comical situations, reversing to get out of a tricky position, sometimes unable to get around a bumper that had fallen off a rival car, or issuing quick-fire instructions to avoid a collision with another vehicle in the general scramble. All, of course, to the great delight of the spectators.

Roy Dupuis, Chantal Francke, Michèle Richard, Karina Marceau and Bertand Godin were among the co-drivers. Yannick Marjot was the race commentator and Martin Everell acted as honorary president. The presenter and journalist for TVA Network said he felt privileged to take part in the race. "It was my second outing. It’s very exciting and for a good cause at the same time."
