Children’s programme with Roy as the star guest of presenter André Robitaille.

First he appears on a screen in a machine that’s meant to be a matter transporter. Talking on the telephone he agrees to spend an hour at the studio, but says it’s a bit far away. André presses a button, and seconds later Roy is beamed into the studio, Star Trek-style. (Now, there’s something that could go for mega-bucks at an auction!). They ask him what character he dreams of being, and he chooses a pirate. So there follows ... Roy Dupuis’ Dream ...

14th August, 1805 - pirate captain Roy is writing up the ship’s log. He has captured Spanish treasure, but for two weeks the ship has been becalmed. His faithful second-in-command, Grignard, is manning the oars, though probably not willingly, as he’s been chained to them. While the captain takes a nap, Grignard manages to steal the keys and release himself, reappearing as a rival pirate intent on taking over the ship. They fight a duel - when they stop for a breather the sword clanging noises continue, and they hurriedly have to resume fighting.

Roy wins, and is making his enemy walk the plank when they notice another ship. They decide to join forces and board her. Fade to after the attack - Gringard is still rowing and the captain is musing on how the ship they attacked had no sails but it still moved. He has captured the cargo - boxes of outboard motors - ‘strange objects’ which he throws over the side.

After ‘the dream’ comes an interview, when he’s asked a question which Macha Grenon had posed the previous week - if he could meet the spirit of anyone at all, who would it be? After considerable consideration he goes for Leonardo da Vinci and Bach. The latter answer causes the conversation to turn to his mother, her piano teaching, and Roy’s musical prowess. Then they go to his baby photos :

1) Roy sleeping - André asks if that’s in Ontario and he says yes, since he’s under 3 months old
2) His first steps
3) Already a pirate (André asks him about his sporting accomplishments, and at this time badminton seems to be the favourite)
4) Playing the piano
5) Playing hockey (at the time he was only playing ‘a little hockey’)
6) In Kapuskasing (a place that André has never heard of)

Then he’s asked to set a question for next week’s guest, Pascale Monpetit. He asks what made her decide to become an actress.

His next task is to draw the name of the winner of a sweatshirt, and then he and André decorate it with their signatures and handprints.

Finally they show a gift that he has left for the show - a little Inuit sculpture of seals
