In Michael's Absence

Although Roy Dupuis’ name is absent from the credits in #501 – 504, Michael’s character haunts the storyline. As Nikita bullies and manipulates her way down the road that eventually leads to her real father’s door, she convinces herself that it’s Michael who is leaving her clues. (It isn’t.) For a moment there’s even a suggestion that he is the sibling with the initial ‘M’. (Again, fortunately not!) The undoubtedly impressive Marco O’Brien has replaced Michael in status and now occupies his office but, as Operations would say, for a worthy Michael substitute "impressive won’t cut it". Operations and Quinn guess that Nikita engineered Michael’s escape after his abeyance mission, and are anxious to prove this so they can discredit her with whoever is Mr Jones that day. So for four episodes Michael’s memory is kept very much alive, although Roy has the good sense not to have any part of it.
Michael Moments Unfortunately not a glimpse, except for a few flashbacks
Words of Wisdom  "The most remarkable field operative we’ve had here in the last 10 years. His record was spectacular, so ‘impressive’ won’t cut it." – Operations
"A quiet man but dangerous." – retirement home caretaker
"Michael will never turn his back on Nikita. That’s his weakness." - Operations
