When Section is infiltrated by
a gas-borne virus, two Oversight biotechs arrive to cure the victims, although it is soon
clear that this is a device by George to erase the minds of Sections key personnel.
With Walter, Nikita and Operations already called away to the Medlab, Michael gets Birkoff
to hack into the biotechs computer, and they discover that the real purpose is to
download their minds in order to stock a tactical library before killing them. Before
going to her fate, Madeline reveals the whereabouts of a neural blocker formula, which the
other two have to synthesise. They are still working on it when Birkoff is called away,
and Michael, now feeling very sick, carries on alone. When its his turn for the
neural scrape he has memory flashbacks of finding Simone, the War cage, and then of Adam,
at which point the blocker kicks in. Michael overcomes the technicians, deals with George,
and reverses the memory downloads of all his buddies. |

Conceived as an hommage
by TPTB, many fans failed to appreciate the concept and regarded the episode as a
budget-saving rehash of old clips. Thank goodness for the old clips, I say. The excerpts
from classic Season 1 episodes Nikita, Escape, Friend, Simone, Charity and War
put the rest of this one firmly in the shade. Although his "sick" act is
impressively convincing, even Roy cant raise his performance for this sorry tale. |
