Michael gets Birkoff to alter
the co-ordinates of a surveillance satellite so he can eavesdrop on Helmut and Nikita
returning home after a 3 week honeymoon. Operations is suspicious that Michaels
performance hasnt deteriorated (is there no pleasing that man?) and warns him
against plotting to get Nikita back. However, an indicator of Michaels true feelings
is seen in the crudely effective torture treatment he applies to an unfortunate captive in
the White Room. He goes to the Volker house to warn Nikita that Christophe, Interpol agent
Helmuts own brother, was the person who ordered Helmuts assassination attempt.
He tries to get close to her, but her loyalties have been transferred to Helmut and she
avoids him. Michael plays no further significant part in the ensuing Hague mission, until
the end when he grants Nikitas wish and refrains from shooting the defecting Helmut. |

Torturing the captive by
pressing his thumbnail into the crescent cut. Ouch. |

As the focus shifts more to
Helmut (Maxwell Caulfield) in this episode, there is far less for Roy to do than in the
previous one. We get a glimpse of his hatred of Operations, and he briefly gives us a peek
at the barely contained jealously that last got an airing against Jurgen at the beginning
of season 2, but he has to rein it in by the end because of his ever-growing compassion
for Miss Fickle, and the fact that Helmut is really a Good Guy. |
