| Michael's POV Onscreen:
25 minutes |
Michael is increasingly
dismayed as the extent of Nikitas personality transformation becomes apparent, from
her dirty tricks during the opening training fight to her uncharacteristic ruthlessness in
blowing up an embassy. Using all available Section resources he tries to get to the cause,
which is finally identified as a neural engineering process pioneered by a former
operative, Gelman. Although Gelman has gone rogue and has successfully evaded recapture,
Michael calls in an old favour to arrange a meeting. Gelman manages to reveal the identity
of the original subject before he is picked off by an unidentified sniper. Having
anticipated that Operations is to have him cancelled, Michael leaves a holographic image
of himself in his office for Davenports team to use as target practice, and he too
goes rogue. |

Performance Rating
 |
Season openers are good to Roy,
the freshness of the material shining through in his performance. He is given some great
action sequences (see all the Moments), but Michael at this point has had the emotional
stuffing knocked out of him. His voice never rises above a whisper, a Roy trademark for
demonstrating Michaels mistrust and insecurity. Roy allows him a period of
uncertainty (for once Michael doesnt instantly sum up the situation and has to work
hard to get his answers) then all but closes him down for the task ahead. |
