Hillinger vs Birkoff part 2
(stifles yawn). Michael leads a mission to capture a baddie, Brulois, in the course of
which Michael prevents Birkoff from being killed in a set-up engineered by Hillinger.
Birky gets really mad and manages to expose Hillinger, who is put in abeyance. When Nikita
expresses discomfort at being on Hillingers last mission, Michael refuses to allow
her to stand down. Hillinger survives this time, but on a subsequent mission Michael
forcibly prevents Nikita from trying to save the younger man. |

Background Roy
again, the producers obviously urging him to save his acting strength for the final arc.
The Birkoff/Hillinger contest escalates into an Operations/George battle, which seemed to
be pointing to an interesting, politically inspired theme for the finale, but it was not
to be. Standard Michael-stuff, with the Type 1 Directive still apparently holding. Jon
Cassar manages to direct the camera back to the face for some nice close-ups, but this is
definitely the lull before the storm that closes Season 3. |
