Hillinger and Birkoff
nose-to-nose - do we Michaelphiles care? Not really
however
. Birkoff is sent
undercover in the field to infiltrate a cult, and it looks as though he might never be
brought back in. Nikita tries to rescue Birkoff, but he has seemingly set her up to be
captured, a fact she is unable to hide from Michael and Operations. Michael raids the cult
HQ with orders to kill the defector, but Birkoff persuades him that he has been working
for Section all along. |

Roy appears as
"background" in a Matthew Ferguson episode, having some well earned down time
after the rigours of the two previous episodes. No new insights into Michaels
character, we already now know that the iron façade has cracked, so Michael helping
Birkoff is no surprise. No intimate stuff going on with Nikita either, although he
automatically disables the surveillance as soon as she enters his (recovered) office.
Where other directors have given us wonderful close-ups of Michaels face, one-time
David Straiton gives us close-ups of his gun. If you were new to the series and looking to
see what all the fuss was about, this wouldnt be the episode to convert you. |
