| Michael's POV Onscreen:
27 minutes |
A face from the past (Obsessed),
David Fanning returns to Section to taunt Michael and Nikita, and take revenge on them. On
a mission to kill a Section enemy Fanning escapes and kidnaps Nikita. Michael is forced to
agree to Fannings demand that he brings Fannings wife, Lisa, in exchange for
Nikita, and enlists Birkoffs help in tracking Lisa down. After he seduces her
Lisas sets her bodyguards on him, but then he regains her confidence by telling her
he is trying to protect her from Fanning. He drugs her and takes her to Fanning, but not
before giving her a deadly isotope with which to poison Fanning and make her escape. When
Nikita tries to rescue Lisa, Michael threatens to shoot her in the leg, telling her that
Lisa must make her own future by killing Fanning. |

Following directly after Not
Was is another high profile episode for Roy, with lots of action (of both the amorous
and aggressive kind), not to mention second helpings of upper torso (this time framed in
the most delectable shirt of all five seasons). A cracking storyline which demonstrates
how well Roys characterization can cope convincingly with Michael at his most
ruthless (you almost feel sorry for tiresome Lisa as she is duped and drugged), as well as
being compassionate in his own way (his calm measured approach to the problem of how to
free her from Fanning is in contrast to Nikitas rage and wanting to run Lisas
life, similar to Fannings own approach to his wife). A faultless performance in an
exacting episode, ably abetted by Messrs. Cochran, Cassar, and Ms Drew. |
