| Michael's POV Onscreen:
20 minutes |
Section recover a Phasing Shell
(brainwashing device) and Nikita becomes its first test subject. Michael is ordered to
observe her reactions. He is concerned by her behaviour but keeps the concerns to himself.
On a mission to Delure Electronics in Chadwick, England, Michael infiltrates the place
where the Phasing Shell is manufactured, and successfully recovers the chief scientist. On
his return to Section, he is informed by Walter that Nikita, junkie-like, has been
sneaking in to use the Shell. Michael visits Nikita at her apartment, kicking her door
down when she refuses to allow him in. Realising that she is falling apart he takes
control of the situation and forces her to pull herself together. On the next mission
Michael prevents Nikita from assassinating the Chinese premier (an effect of her use of
the Shell), and back at Section assures her that he will help her through this problem. |

A good ensemble script which
gives the LFN cast a chance to show how well they work together. Roy shows Michaels
growing interest in Nikita by subtle mannerisms and body language during Nikitas
discussion of her childhood experiences. Without extensive use of words, he allows the
audience to realise that not everything Michael does is necessarily, any more, in
Sections best interests. Despite these nuances of concern and compassion though, Roy
still finds an opportunity to demonstrate his trademark blank stare, notably
in response to Operations bad floating joke. Michael is not
amused. |
