| Michael's POV Onscreen:
18 minutes |
A nuclear device is left in an
unknown city with 24 hours before detonation. The only hope Section have of finding the
device is Rudy, an innocent in every sense of the word. Michael is unable to
connect with Rudy, not believing the story he tells about what he was doing at the
airport. In this instance his logic fails him, and he is outsmarted by Nikita whose
humanitarian approach is more successful. An idiot savant, Rudy has an
extraordinary memory for numbers, and recalls the car licence number (Michael is stunned)
that links an embassy to the bomb. A team is sent, but Rudy deliberately identifies the
wrong man in order to escape to visit his institutionalised sister, thus outwitting
Michael again. Constantly frustrated by Rudys lack of pace in the light of
diminishing timescales, Michael suggests bypassing Rudy, which is another wrong call as
the pizza man remembers the detonator code with seconds to spare. |

"No-one ordered pizza."
"Hes a Class One
collateral in a dead com (sic) scenario. We incubate, you know the rules."(Surely
a contender for the Longest Line Spoken by Michael Award!)
"We dont have a lot

Poor Michael! He can twist
women round his little finger, but he hasnt a clue how to handle Rudy. Roy turns
this inadequacy into constant agitation, frustration with Rudy and his meanderings, and
some powerful close-ups of intense apprehension as the final seconds count down. |
