| Michael's POV Onscreen:
13 minutes |
Michael interrupts
Nikitas cosy evening with Gray by arriving at her apartment, claiming to be her
cousin. Furious, he later tells her never again to unplug her telephone, and after a
mission refuses to let her delay her debrief so she can rush back to him. In a scene
plucked almost straight from the original Besson film, Michael forces Nikita to carry out
a shooting whilst she is on vacation with Gray. He is becoming increasingly frustrated
with her attachment, and after she compromises a mission spells out a few Section facts of
life for her. In answer to Nikitas jibe that hes only jealous of Gray because
Nikita loves him, Michael points out that it was at his instigation that Gray was kept
alive, as Section had wanted him killed. Michael has engineered a situation that forces
Nikita to give up Gray so that he and his daughter might live. |

These early encounters with
Nikita getting all pouty against Michaels cool self-assurance have always had great
entertainment value, although they did tend to emphasise Petas relative inexperience
in those days. As a bonus, Cousin Michael is a little gem of a cameo, all surface charm
with seething jealousy below. Another satisfying performance. |
