Michael's POV

Onscreen:
21 minutes

Michael is ordered to recover the Section’s Directory, a vital list of operatives. He is forced into a bidding war with a terrorist, Benko, which he wins. However, when he tries to collect the Directory a gunfight breaks out, and the Directory is found to be missing. Section believes it may have been planted on an innocent prior to the gunfight. Whilst the suspect, Gray, is being interviewed, Michael’s team search his house. Nikita is introduced into Gray’s life, perhaps too successfully for Michael’s comfort, who is forced to hear Madeline tell him he has to be prepared for Nikita to form attachments outside Section. After Nikita has been forced to become a human bomb, we see Michael’s distress at her situation, and Nikita’s defiance of him when she refuses to hand over the defused bomb. Later, Michael is a forlorn figure standing in the shadows, watching Nikita as she enters Gray’s house for a dinner date.
Michael Moments On a par with the Hand Dance from the previous episode, the Great Loading Dock step-up.
Hair tuck after searching Harding’s dead body for the Directory.
His wry smile when leaving Madeline’s office.
Words of Wisdom "Thank you."
"If the Directory ends up in his hands we’ll hunt you down. There’s not enough money in the world to protect you."
"They’ve only seen each other a couple of times."
Performance Rating
Roy opens up the character of Michael even further, to show his inability to accept that Nikita may be forming a romantic attachment on the outside. He also shows use one or two rare flashes of humour from Michael, leaving us want to know yet more about the enigmatic character he has created.
