Writer/Director Andrew Dettman & Daniel Truly / George Bloomfield
Michael's POV

Onscreen:
22 minutes

Michael, hawk-like from an overhead gantry, watches Nikita arrive in Section ready for a briefing. The audience are let into the secret that Nikita is planning to escape from Section with the aid of another operative, the lovelorn Eric. Michael tells Nikita he’d like to spend more time with her outside Section, causing her to feel conflicted about escaping. Female audience members suffer Thud burnout as the now infamous ‘Hand Dance’ takes place in Nikita’s apartment, Michael’s attempted seduction of Nikita interrupted only by a timely call from Section. After a successful mission, Nikita decides she cannot leave Section and Michael. To her dismay, however, Michael later reveals that Section knew of the escape plan all along, and that his seduction was a trick to keep her from being hunted down and cancelled. At a later briefing Michael witnesses Nikita slamming down the surveillance equipment from her apartment and refusing ever again to be watched in this way.
