"Seeing Roy perform
live on stage is a dream come true. He is so dynamic and he has such a
strong stage presence. Each time we saw the play, he evolved more into
his character which was fascinating to watch. Being able to see Roy and
Céline both on stage together, as the character Cate would say, was ..."superbe".

Roy on stage, no re-takes, baring it all.
How can you not remember why you took up this Roy "call"?
Memorized by his talent no matter what the theme.
Definitely a completion of a long sought dream.
Roy + Céline on stage in artful pursuit of creation.
They have my total admiration.
Lucky, yes, that is me.
Recognizing his talent first on TV,
Then film, and now on stage; the consummate actor, Roy Dupuis!

"What an incredible treat to see Roy on stage, up
close and in person, even if the play wasn't worth doing. In the end,
it's not the sexual or horrifying scenes that stay with me, it's the way
Roy rose to the challenge of this play and the way he gave the character
of Ian so much more humanity than I feel Sarah Kane created him with.
That, I think, tells us a lot about M. Dupuis."

"Watching Roy work on stage is a thrill! His performance in
"Blasted" was courageous and powerful, even sympathetic. As we so often
say of his performances, he "became" Ian, and made the audience want to
care about him. When I said I was glad we had seen the play, one of my
friends said, "Could we not have done this?" The answer, of
course, is, "No!" "

"Years ago I read a line on RDO to
the effect "...pre-Nikita, if you were lucky enough to have caught Roy
on-stage..." I remember the bittersweetness that I felt - happy for the
discovery, sad that I had missed performances Roy spoke so passionately
about.
Guess you could say my latest trip North was in its planning stages all
those years ago. So I didn't read the play on purpose - had enough
feedback from dear friends that I knew it was controversial at
best. Also knew that this was my second chance - I had to close the
loop and finally catch him on-stage. My lasting impression is really
one of amazement - given the utterly provocative nature of most of the
play's content, I wondered how they were going to stage these scenes
without completely losing the audience. They honestly couldn't have
done them any better, and for that I'm most grateful!"
